This extremely compact design has a surprising amount of interior space and it has an eye catching exterior reminiscent of homes from an earlier period. The kitchen has a floor to ceiling pantry plus a walk in pantry located under the stairwell. The master bath has built-in linen storage and easy access from the kitchen & utility area. Bookshelves are built into the living room, (next to the door leading to the porch) stairwell, upstairs study area and the rear upstairs bed room. This is a super energy saving home featuring 2x6 exterior walls, 12” attic insulation and many other energy saving features.
A: 1. Yes there is enough space. 2. Because this home is designed within a very small footprint, all spaces are critical and should not be diminished by adding anything that would consume part of the space. As such, we would suggest adding a fireplace where the firebox and chimney could be located on the outside of the exterior wall and therefore not consume any of the inside space. The logical location would be in the center of the right exterior wall.
A: This plan is designed on a crawl space foundation, therefore, the artwork is a true representation of how the home would appear if built on a level site. Access to the crawl space is via a hinged lattice panel located at the rear porch.
