Q & A
Previous Q & A
Q:This is the best plan I have ever found; given, we would want to expand it some if we were to buy it in the future. My question is whether we assume that the ceiling height for the basement would be 9' tall or an 8' tall. We would prefer the 9' Thank you.
A:The basement ceiling height is 8'.
Q:Could the covered porch be made into an office? Is the fireplace wood-burning?
A:Modifications can be done to turn the covered porch into a room.
The fireplace shown is a gas fireplace not a wood burning fireplace.
Tammy
Q:Does this plan allow for a walkout basement and can you use a one big garage door?
A:This plan can be drawn with a walkout basement and it could be modified to show a single garage.
Thanks!
Tammy
Q:Is it possible to have one bedroom and bathroom in a 2nd story? or a loft?
A:Adding a 2nd floor whether for a loft or a bedroom & bath would require extensive structural changes and is not recommended by our designers. It would be wiser to choose an existing 2 story house.
Q:What size are the current garage doors?
A:The garage doors are 8/0 x 7/0. To ask about modifying the plan, please call that department at 800-482-0464 ex. 410.
Q:Are the ceilings in the great room only 9 ft. high? If so could they be higher and how much higher could they be? Could there be a 3rd car stall added to the garage?
A:3rd car garage would be difficult. The best way to get a 3rd car is to pull garage forward 12’ & side load it. Great rm has trusses over the room so it can be a cathedral, step, or tray ceiling if they want of any height
Q:what is the length and width of this house, and what size property do I need for this style house.
A:The width of this house is 58’0” - the length is 49’4”
As far as what size property is needed, that is determined by the regulations and setback guidelines set by the town/city of the build location. There is no one answer.
Tammy
Q:If you were to make the back of the house go straight from bedroom 2 to the great room inclusive instead of the indentations; how many square feet would that add to the total living area.
A:In reply to the question posed below, it would add approximately 116 square feet to the plan.
Tammy
