Plan Description
A Grand Shingle and Stone Cottage
The circular drive takes you to a timber trussed porte-cochere protecting guests from the weather and provides a dramatic entrance to a truly magnificent home. The open entry is a starting point to the many interesting rooms within. The 10'-0" ceiling throughout the first floor is a powerful statement on its own. To the left of the entry is an office handy to a powder room and guest closet. A bit further on is a very large keeping room and kitchen for an informal but elegant entertaining space with a large angled bay for the dining area. To the left is the great room separated from the keeping room by a stone clad see-through fireplace. On the right of the entry is the 42" extra wide stair to the second floor and access to the laundry and anteroom with a lavatory and openings to pantry and three car garage that has its own stair to a large storage space in the attic. Taking the stairs to the second floor, there is the master bedroom on the left. Timber framed trusses enhance the vaulted ceiling of the bedroom and the very roomy and well appointed master bath with an oversized walk in closet, dual vanity, and built in dressers. All the other bedrooms also have vaulted ceilings with timber embellishments, two share a jack and jill bath, and they all have generous closet spaceModifications
